Black Beach

By Marcela

The sight of this black coast made me aware, once again, of the beauty that nature has to offer. This volcanic shore, with its strong crushing waves, sinks down with each step as I walk on the tiny rocks that replaced the sand long ago. This lonely coast protects itself from bathers who are not able to enter its deep seashore to fight the strong undercurrent within. Still, the long stretch allows the visitor to find those peaceful moments we look for at the shore.

The Beauty of a Freeze

By Marcela

The morning freeze imprisoned a leaf within its clutch, preserving beauty under the crackling ice above. The stillness crumbled with the eventual warmth of the sun. I never stop being in awe at the beauty of nature and at the new tricks it plays for our eyes. I am thankful to have witnessed this moment and to have photographed it.

The Ocean

By Marcela

Walking at the edge of the crashing waves, with wet sand at my feet, all troubles or bad times dissipate as if the ocean mist could carry all at once the burdens I bring to the shore. Life becomes peaceful, light, and full of hope when I am surrounded by the sound of the crashing waves, softly moving up close and then receding quickly, leaving patterns in the sand that speak to me of past times, happy times. I leave my worries at the edge of the moving wave and I am renewed, full of life, to continue once more in peace. I love the ocean and the breeze that washes my face with new hope.
